I’ve heard a lot about blue light blocking computer glasses. But I’ve Only recently tested them out.
So back in December, I had the pleasure to try blue light blocking glasses from Phonetic Eyewear. I’ve heard a lot about them but I didn’t even know what blue light was at that time. I quickly researched and found that these glasses might be exactly what i’ve been needing.
Like many of us, I spend a lot of time looking at my phone and computer screens.
The downside of working remotely would probably be that pretty much all of my work is done through some sort of digital screen. I know, this isn’t exactly great for my eyes but it is what it is. I’m already sensitive to bright and harsh lights so I figured it was time to give these glasses a try. I had a few questions initially.
- Will these glasses help with my sensitivity to light?
- Will these glasses effectively block blue light?
- What is blue light?
So, what is blue light?
Sunlight is made of orange, red, yellow, green, and blue light rays. If you combine all of these colors, you get what is known as “sunlight” or “white light”. Blue light can be found everywhere but sunlight is the main source of blue light. Blue light can also be found in fluorescent lighting, LED lights and televisions. I don’t know about y’all but that’s a lot of blue light.
Since receiving these blue light blocking glasses, I’ve noticed some things..
I would like to mention that these glasses have this green tint so all of the blue light looks greenish. And I love every second of it! Before receiving these glasses, I didn’t even know that the blue light was aggravating my eyes, creating headaches and eye strain. These glasses seem to block the blue light which helps in preventing headaches and eye strain from digital devices like my phone. I have had fewer headaches since I started wearing these glasses a few weeks ago. I never suffered from daily headaches or migraines but on most days, I did have some sort of tension or eye strain from looking at digital devices.
These glasses seem to work wonders with my sensitivity to light.
So listen, I don’t know if it was the blue light giving me tension headaches but when I wear these glasses, my eyes don’t seem as sensitive to light. I pop these glasses on and I find myself squinting less which results in less eye strain and less headaches. I wear these glasses mostly while at home, staring at digital devices. I’m usually on my devices more when I’m home so it works out for me.
In conclusion, blue light blocking glasses turned out to be something I never knew I needed.
Blue light may seem friendly and i’m not saying its evil or anything. I’m just saying I was having headaches and now i’m not having as many. I think I’m going to have to look into sunglasses and blue light now because I need to do better at wearing my sunglasses when I’m out and about.
